Skilled Migration Case Studies (2007)
Client: Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development, Victoria

Agile developed a suite of 18 case studies for DIIRD capturing the experiences of skilled and business migrants from a variety of cultural backgrounds. These case studies form part of a major international campaign promoting Victoria as a great place to live and work.

Agile project managed face-to-face interviews, writing, editing and photography, and collaborated with video production company, Backspin, to develop video interviews with each participant.

State of the Parks Report (2007)
Client: Parks Victoria

Agile edited the 260 page State of the Parks Report for readability, clarity and style. In development for five years, this report is the most comprehensive summary of the health of Victoria’s network of public parks and reserves ever produced.

The project involved close collaboration with Parks Victoria staff to ensure all text was clear, logical and reader friendly. We advised on the structure, information hierarchy, flow and tone of voice. Agile also project managed graphic design and printing.

Koori Justice newsletter (2007 and ongoing)
Client: Department of Justice, Victoria

Agile writes, edits and project manages design of Koori Justice, a quarterly publication reporting on Indigenous justice issues across Victoria.

Koori Justice covers the outcomes and initiatives of the Victorian Aboriginal Justice Agreement, a partnership between the Victorian Government and the Koori community which aims to minimise over representation of Indigenous people in the criminal justice system.

In close cooperation with the Indigenous Issues Unit of the Department of Justice, Agile develops a story list for each edition and conducts interviews with prominent Aboriginal leaders and professionals working in the criminal justice system. Agile writes and edits all stories, manages approval and project manages design and layout.

City of Melbourne Tourism Plan (2007)
Client: The City of Melbourne

Agile worked closely with the City of Melbourne’s Tourism Melbourne branch to develop a five-year plan to boost tourism to Melbourne, and ensure the city is welcoming and easy to explore for visitors.

Agile developed a vision and eight key themes which formed the basis of the plan. The project involved extensive consultation with research, planning and marketing staff from the City of Melbourne to gather information and statistics, refine key messages and develop a logical reader-friendly document.

Study Melbourne Campaign (2006)
Client: Department of Education (DoE), Victoria (DET)

Agile developed content for the Victorian Government’s Study Melbourne campaign to promote the city as an international study destination. The project included research and writing for a keynote brochure highlighting the study advantages of Melbourne, as well as a suite of brochures and CD-ROMs.

The project also involved interviews with 20 international students to develop case studies about the benefits of studying in Melbourne.

Sustainability Victoria Annual Report & Business Plan (2006)
Client: Sustainability Victoria (SV)

Agile researched, wrote and edited text for Sustainability Victoria’s Annual Report 2005/06 and Business Plan 2006-09. Both projects involved extensive collaboration with SV staff to gather background information, develop a document structure, decide on key messages, and edit / rewrite background information into a clear, reader-friendly format.

Agile also conducted interviews and developed text for break-out case studies and fast fact boxes contained in both documents and advised on information hierarchy, flow and tone of voice.

Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability Annual Report (2005/2006)
Client: Office of the Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability (CES)

Agile researched, wrote and edited the 2004/05 and 2005/06 Annual Reports for Victoria’s Office of the Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability.

The project involved extensive collaboration with CES staff to gather information, develop a report structure, decide on key messages, and edit / rewrite background information into a clear, reader-friendly format.

Agile also conducted interviews and developed text for case studies and fast fact boxes highlighting program achievements and targets. We also ensured the document was logical and easy to navigate.

Growth Areas Authority Website (2006)
Client: Growth Areas Authority, Victoria (GAA)

Agile worked closely with this new statutory authority to develop plain English, reader-friendly content for its website, launched in November 2006.

The aim of the site was to introduce the GAA and explain its roles and responsibilities to key stakeholders. The project involved defining target audiences, developing key messages, creating a logical structure and information hierarchy for the website, research and information gathering, writing, editing and revising content, and working with staff and other contractors to develop and test the website.

Trading Places (2006)
Client: The City of Greater Dandenong

Trading Places is community oral history project capturing the real-life stories of 30 traders from diverse backgrounds in Dandenong.

Funded by the City of Greater Dandenong and the Commonwealth Department of Environment and Heritage ‘Sharing Australian Stories’ program, the project involved face-to-face interviews with business owners about their lives, their migration stories, and how and why they established their businesses in Dandenong.

The stories are told in the participant’s own words and provide an insight into the influence of post World War II migration on Dandenong. Many of those interviewed were from non-English speaking backgrounds. Their memories of arriving in Australia and their determination to make a new life are often inspirational. A book and photographic exhibition were produced as part of the project. The exhibition was on display at Melbourne’s Immigration Museum during 2007.

Melbourne Airport Main Runway Widening Project,
Australian Construction Awards Submission (2006)
Client: John Holland Construction

Agile developed an awards submission for John Holland Construction, which showcased the company’s achievements in widening Melbourne Airport’s main runway in preparation for the new A380 aircraft.

Written in a short timeframe, we interviewed relevant project managers, assessed key selection criteria and researched key features of the project and the way it was delivered.

Agile developed a structure for the proposal which included a short, sharp plain English summary as well as succinct responses to key selection criteria. John Holland received the top award for this project at the 2006 Australian Construction Awards.

Business Melbourne DVD (2006)
Client: The City of Melbourne

Agile coordinated more than 30 on-camera interviews with some of Melbourne’s top business leaders, scientists and creative professionals for this DVD promoting Melbourne’s business capabilities to an international audience.

Agile scheduled and conducted all interviews, including interviews with high profile business leaders such as CEO of AXA, Les Owen, and CEO of GE Money, Tom Gentile. Agile briefed all participants, prepared interview questions, selected quotes and developed the DVD script. The 15 minute presentation was divided into seven industry sectors, which can be viewed separately.

The project was delivered in a tight six-week timeframe in early 2006 and launched at the Business Club of Australia’s key event during the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Community Building Case Studies (2005)
Client: Department for Victorian Communities, Victoria

Agile project managed more than 40 face-to-face interviews across Melbourne and regional Victoria to develop a suite of printed and online case studies capturing the outcomes of 20 innovative Community Building Demonstration Projects.

The project required Agile to gather information from a wide variety of sources including senior government staff, community workers and people living in some of Victoria’s most isolated and disadvantaged communities.

Agile conducted all face-to-face interviews, developed text and managed feedback and approval. We also project managed 20 photographic shoots, graphic design and printing.

Connecting Communities Case Studies (2004/2006)
Client: Department of Infrastructure (Multimedia Victoria)

Agile developed 30 case studies over two publications for Multimedia Victoria, showcasing the Victorian Government’s successful Connecting Communities initiative. The program focused on developing internet and online skills throughout Victoria, particularly in regional Victoria and disadvantaged communities.

Agile project managed all interviews, writing and photography.
